Apple has a new vision...
Apple's new AR headset is nifty, but will take a big bite out of your wallet.
The long-rumored Apple VR headset, “Apple Vision Pro” has finally been revealed, and it does look stunning. Supposedly available early next year, It has more features than any other set on the market, but I wonder how well it’s going to do. It links to Apple electronic products but it probably won’t link to Android or Microsoft products. Also, it’s going to be very pricey, “starting” at just under $3500 dollars, which makes me wonder just how many of these Apple is going to be able to move with most ordinary consumers counting every penny and wondering how much worse the economy is going to get.
Techy-speaking, the device is a wonder, with a high-pixel count screen that gives you Imax-like display resolution. Combined with Dolby Atmos headphone speakers, it will throw any movie or game in front of you in thundering wide-screen glory. This all comes at a price though, and not just in terms of money. The device is powered by a small pocket-sized battery pack that only last two hours, which isn’t even enough to get you through most movies these days, let alone gaming sessions. It’s probably going to be a hit with high-end users, but for most users who likely already have big-screen tvs or are used to working on keyboards and laptops, which have far-superior battery life, it may be a “it’s nice and maybe when the price drops” purchase.
Anyway, have a look.
